How the unwind part works in a slitter rewinder?

Unwind is consists of 4 main parts: the unwind base, moveable unwind arms, hydraulic station for parent roll loading aid, PAUSOURCE web guide system.

The hydraulic station is connected with the unwind part and controlled by buttons on the moveable arms, so that it’s easily accessible during the parent roll loading process. With this hydraulic loading aid system, the work is simple and smooth, and could be operated by one worker.

The moveable arms are mounted onto the unwind base and could be shifted horizontally under the instructions from the ultrasonic web guide. The PAUSOURCE web guide we selected is a high performance device for detecting deviations. Once a slight deviation (accurate upto +/-0.1mm) is detected, this device could emit a command signal to the PLC instantly (within 1millisecond) and the PLC would issue an corresponding action command to the moveable arms instantly. In this way, the parent roll would be always maintained in a center-line during the whole process.

When the machine is running at a speed of 500m/min, the web would run 8.3mm within 1 millisecond, which means that every slight deviation on the parent roll would be corrected by the web-guide system before the web runs out 0.8mm. A reliable reaction time for the web guide system is an important factor for JUYOU slitter rewinder’s excellent performance on the finished rewound reels.
